Autumn Chill cools the nights as we live near the hills and it is five degrees cooler here in Panchkula than New Delhi the capital of India. This doggie is trying to heat up his body after the night’s chill.

Forgive my ignorance about the rest of the world, but are dogs left outside at night on your part of the planet?

Its a dog’s life for these stray ones. The pets are really taken care of but these self propagating street dogs survive hiding in nooks and crannies; under cars and over cars.

I am afraid even people are left out in our side of the planet. We are still struggling. The rich are getting richer and the poor are much poorer in some pockets. Animal lovers have their leader in Maneka Gandhi (no relation of Mahatama Gandhi but daughter -in- law of former Prime Minister Indira Ghandi) a member of parliament who has dedicated her life to providing succour to ill-treated animals. The destination is still far away.

We have homeless people, also, but there are some homeless shelters in cities and larger towns. It is a big problem. Each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats). Approximately 2.7 million shelter animals are adopted each year (1.4 million dogs and 1.3 million cats). And, yet, people in the United States continue to breed certain types of dogs to sell for prices up to 900.00 each. It is a touchy subject between people who breed dogs and cats and those who feel that breeding should only be allowed when there are no more animals killed in “shelters”. Thank you for explaining this to me and telling me about Maneka Gandhi.

Now this must be one high-stepping dog. No easy matter to sit on the roof of ANYTHING! Perhaps he saw the movie Titanic and decided he wanted to be “king of the world”. Or just wanted to sit “far above the maddening crowd”.

That’s the problem the follow button is not appearing. I wished they left it where it was or if you had one in a widget I could use that.

I know the young guys find ways to make things tougher and more technical for the not so savvy intenet users.

You are welcome. I will try another time. I marked the email to keep. Maybe the problem is on my end. I may have to reboot again. It is bedtime for me.
