People take off in these boats in search of dolphins where the River Mandovi meets the Arabian Sea. We did see a pair twice but the numerous boats arriving scared them away eventually.
A tip to dolphin seekers. Please insist on lifejackets which seem to be missing. The boatmen are very experienced but the increasing traffic can lead to a disaster at sea.
Coco Beach is the ideal place for trinkets and Goa Tee-shirts. Bargain like hell and bring the price down to one-fourth of what is asked for.

Thanks for the reminder about the life jackets and the great bargaining tip! Do most of the vendors in India ask for four times the acceptable amount, or is it just in the more touristy areas?

Bargaining is a norm in most Indian shops except for the international Brands. Ten to twenty percent can be easily bargained for.
